Alaqa Malqir

  • Work before play

  • Attention to detail: 700%

  • Will kick your ass at Kharaqiq

  • Smarter than you

  • Hotter than you

Alaqa's friendship with Alchidai hasn't wavered since her youth. Though her interests and skills were polar opposite to his, she's kept close to him and his friends throughout his adventures across Eorzea. She excels as a Black Mage and in all crafting and gathering classes. She has yet to offer an explanation for why she picked up a Scythe. Until Endwalker, she relied on her magical prowess alone in combat.

Ume arrived in Vesper Bay with the Doman refugees during the events of ARR. After multiple encounters with Alchidai, she took up the sword in secret. Piece by piece she purchased and made her own armor. Before long she began sneaking into the coliseum in Ul'dah to hone her skills further.

No one knew her face or her identity and most assumed her horns were decorative. She became the Dragon Knight of the Coliseum and became one of the few fighters who never lost when an opponent began fighting dirty. No matter the trick or cheat, she fought through it.

Little did she know that her skill at disarming treachery came from powers beyond her understanding.

U'rhasa Tia

U'rhasa is drawn to magic more than most can even imagine, feeling the aetherial flow of the world is like second nature to him. His aptitude was noticed quickly by the Seedseers of Gridania. While his skills would be expected of a Padjal, he was a Miqo'te. How unusual!

He maintains a close relationship with Kan-E-Senna, A-Ruhn-Senna, and Raya-O-Senna and regularly returns to Gridania when practicing his magic.

She just walked out of the woods one day, bow in hand.

Vreer is the sort of Viera that gives other Viera a bad name. She'll shoot first and ask questions later. After arriving in Gridania, she made a name for herself as a 'really angry bunny' amongst the local crowds, both good and bad. The crimes she acts upon are assaults on nature. Anyone not showing the respect they should to the forest and its denizens gets a beating.

The forest must always make the first move, anything else is unacceptable.

Alchidai - Story

SPOILERS for Final Fantasy XIV below. Read on at your own discretion.

Early Life

Alchidai was born a Kha, a nomadic tribe made up of traders and explorers who live at the edges of the Azim Steppe. Many in the tribe suspected him to be an abandoned Borlaaq child who had no home to return to. In the early days they asked around for nearby battles, disasters, or any deaths that could have explained the sudden arrival of a mystery baby. No answers were found. However, a second mystery baby was found under completely different circumstances. Under the care of the Malqir tribe, a child was born and her parents had both disappeared. It did not take long for the Kha and Malqir tribes to realize both children were born on the very same night. A sign, for certain, but of what? That question hung heavy over Alchidai's head as he grew up. That question guided his hand to learn about the stars.

First Sword

The Kha freely mingle with travelers and traders outside of the Xaela tribes on the Steppe. Throughout Alchidai's upbringing he was eager to meet and learn from every new face. He made himself useful by getting stronger, lifting boxes and carrying anything he could if it meant he could ask more questions. As he grew older he asked for nothing in return, simply helping was its own reward. He regularly shared meals with travelers, staying with them until the stars filled the sky.In his travels he'd put the astrological beliefs of the Xaela tribes to memory. They were all similar but with their own quirks, their own eccentricities, and they were strikingly different from anyone outside the Steppe. He could feel that something was guiding him, trying to direct him somewhere. A distant tug, a far-off voice calling to him.Be it destiny or pure coincidence, an opportunity fell into his lap when a caravan came to the Kha tribe with a Paladin aboard. A heavily wounded Paladin; even the horses of the caravan were worse for wear. The next several years saw the Paladin nursed back to physical health at a great cost. His shield was too heavy to bear. His shoulder couldn't bear to swing the blade like he needed. His armor compressed his chest and he couldn't breathe. His legs didn't move him out of harm's way. The injuries he'd sustained had killed the Paladin and left only the man.But that man had much he could teach and he found pride in passing on what he knew. Alchidai wasn't the only one learning, but he was the only one who made it to the end.

Finding Home

Before he had finished learning to be a Paladin, Alchidai's past caught up with him. On a chance meeting in Reunion, the neutral trading settlement, a member of the Dotharl tribe stopped him and asked to see his eyes. To a nearby Qestir guard's surprise, the Dotharl threw their arms around Alchidai and held him in an embrace while muttering "You're back. It's been so long."Alchidai's soul was the wanderer and his past life had gone off on its own and died somewhere, at least according to the Dotharl, and he'd been missing since.Alongside the Dotharl, he finished learning to wield the sword and he mastered a ferocity in battle that would serve him for years to come. That ferocity saw him through Bardam's Mettle to make him a true warrior of the Steppe. That same ferocity saw him live through multiple Nadaams alongside his fellow members of the Dotharl. Though many died, he knew they would meet again before long.

A Realm Reborn

Every story has a beginning, and Alchidai's began with three catalysts. The first was the Xaela child, Alaqa, born on the same night as him who'd become fast friends with him since. Her arrival in the Dotharl tribe settlement was deeply unusual, being from the Malqir tribe, but in her hands was a Star Globe. It was the weapon of an Astrologian and it was covered in astrological diagrams and markings from Ishgard. The second catalyst was the wounded Paladin's passing, the man's injuries had tipped his hourglass over and there was no cheating death in the end. But his death came as a relief to him, a deep fulfillment that he had not died in vain. His sword, shield, and armor would be in good hands. His ideals would live on. He had done good. The third catalyst was the voice, the calling in his head growing louder. But now... But now!Hear. He had to try hard to hear it before, to listen only at night.Feel. He was so sure it was there, that he could reach it.Think. His friends and family would forgive him. He had the soul of the wanderer after all. The world called to him and he had to know what was out there. His adventure set out from the Azim Steppe, a boat and a wagon bringing him to Ul'dah, and the world was so much larger than he could have envisioned. Alaqa, too, joined him saying she could hear something too. What it was, she didn't know, but she wasn't going to let him go off and die somewhere alone.[To be continued]

U'rhasa- Story

SPOILERS for Final Fantasy XIV below. Read on at your own discretion.

The Warriors Of Light

Limsa Lominsa, Ul'dah, and Gridania each found a hero to call a Warrior of Light. Three different heroes. (Unknown to all of them, there was a fourth.) While some were surprised to find that there were multiple Warriors of Light, most agreed that the world would never be content to be predictable.

Gridania

U'rhasa is a man with no memory of his past. His first memories were waking up on a carriage making its way into the forest city of Gridania. In his hands he had a staff that felt alive, thrumming with magic, and he had a key to some kind of building. Those were the building blocks that set him on a path of discovery. After befriending the Elder Seedseer and assisting in the purification of the forest, he settled into life as a protector of the forest. It was the arrival of three travelers in Gridania that prompted his departure.

A Realm Reborn

Despite his gut instinct to stay put to protect the forest, the magic that flowed in and around him pulled him forward. Forces outside of his control urged him forward and he followed their insistent nudges.

The forest would still be protected by his actions, he was just taking a more proactive stance... by fighting back. Never in a thousand years did he see himself using his magic to blow apart Garlean machinery.

Yet he had grown quite skilled at doing so.

He refines his magic continuously, changing his spells in ways that no one else has. He had channeled his magic through the strategies of White mages originally but Ul'dah, Limsa, and the wilds saw him incorporate Black, Blue, and Red mage methodology into his skills. Now he's something more than all the pieces he's put together.

Heavensward

Ishgard is much too cold for U'rhasa's liking. Though he's only just arrived, his first priority was to buy a thick winter coat. He can't focus on his magic if he's too busy shivering!

U'rhasa - Physical Changes

U'rhasa has not undergone any physical changes at this time.

Vreer- Story

SPOILERS for Final Fantasy XIV below. Read on at your own discretion.

Leaving the Forest

If Vreer is from somewhere, she hasn't told a soul. When asked where she's from, her answer is always the same: "Nature's mists."

Further inquiries earn a warning shot.

A Realm Reborn

Vreer stumbled upon U'rhasa and his companions when they arrived to converse with the Sylphs about the threat Ramuh might pose. The first words out of her mouth were "You're fools." She didn't join them when they departed.

She did join them when Noraxia returned to Little Solace.

Regarding Garlemald

Not content to fight at the slow pace that U'rhasa and his companions did, Vreer regularly sets out on missions by herself to quell the threat posed by Garlemald. She's deadly accurate with a bow and has killed more Garleans from the forest's shadows than she can count.

And that's not enough to quiet her anger for even a moment.

Prior to the rescue of the Scions, Vreer attempted a rescue solo and was injured as a result. The limited effectiveness of her basic arrows has necessitated finding other means of countering the Garlean threat.

Vreer - Physical Changes

Vreer has a substantial scar on the right of her abdomen caused by a Garlean Magitek Armor firing at random in defense of Castrum Centri.

Knukis- Story

SPOILERS for Final Fantasy XIV below. Read on at your own discretion.

A Realm Reborn

Before ever meeting U'rhasa, Knukis lost his left eye defending himself from a Dravanian attack in the Coerthas highlands. His family was not so lucky.

Though he recovered in time, he was left with nothing. He was welcomed in the Brume and he will never forget the generosity of its people.

Skysteel Manufactory

Rejected from all attempts to join Ishgard's holy order of Temple Knights who deemed him unfit for service; Knukis pursued other avenues to attempt to be of service to the Holy See and change things with his own hands.

A coincidence saw him hired at the Skysteel Manufactory. Unlike the Temple Knights, the Manufactory did not have any qualms with his missing eye.

Since joining, he has aided in the development and advancement of multiple cartridge-based weapons. At first the ideas were his own. But...

Dreams

Again and again he dreams. He hears whispers of Bozja, a place he does not know. He experiences the thrill and exhilaration of swinging a gunblade and being a hero.

Again and again he wakes, not understanding where these dreams come from or what it means that he's seeing them. But he can't shake the memory of the weapons he wielded in the dream.

Knukis - Physical Changes

At this time, Knukis has not undergone any physical changes.

Nitha - Story

Nitha was born into an enormous farming family, and though he loved his small community and his human family, he felt out of place. He left not long after his older brother, the only sibling to bear a Calling that differed much like his own, in search of meaning. His search was one of solitude for a time, his caution and apprehension leading to every burden being one he took himself. He augmented his body with magic, reinforcing himself so he could take on anything. While out in the world, forces that sought him for his power and his beauty closed in around him at every turn. Through it all, he's realized that the walls he put up to protect himself had done more harm than good. He overthinks things, his thoughts leading him to miss details. For a time, he thought he was making all the right decisions. Now the fear of opening up, of vulnerability, is lifting and he continues to reflect on and fix the mistakes he's made. The world is so large and so beautiful and it feels like he's diving into it for the first time.

Adventure 1: Remant of Growth

Nitha's first adventure brought him face-to-face with Vi, a being who embodied the deep and unrelenting force of growth in the world. They were a creation by an old god who constantly seeks to weave her claws into the current world to claim it as her own. Vi blessed Nitha with a flower growing out of his wrist, linking them together.

Adventure 2: The hole in the world

Nitha's second adventure, with Vi at his side, saw him join forces with members of the Lunar Citadel, most notably Diazdilerce. Multiple physical confrontations with beasts including hellhounds and more as the ground descended left them tired and on edge. The labyrinth, full of dangers, built to contain an old god and her creations. At the center he came face-to-face with Dusk, one of the gods of the old world. The encounter revealed the true reality of what Vi was. After the confrontation, Nitha's memories were locked away and Vi is gone. The flower remains. Dusk's fate is unknown.

Adventure 3: Edetgloss

Nitha arrived in the magical city of Edetgloss with new scars, no memories, and an ancient book. He's pieced things together slowly but there's so much he doesn't know. He has time to take it slower here, to uncover the pieces, though the machinations of the city demand some of his attention.

This adventure marks several notable changes for Nitha. His girlfriend, Zinna, will remove the flower that Vi placed in him at the cost of his arm. His magic will be completely reworked, he'll create a space to raise and train his pack of Hellhounds, and he'll have multiple children.

Nitha - Physical Changes

Adventure 1: Gained Vi's flower.
Adventure 2: Gained multiple scars and pawprint brand (rear shoulder.)
Adventure 3: Lost arm.

Kriemregia - Story

Kriemregia is a Mantis, a solitary race of wanderers with no home community to call their own, who has made it their purpose to travel the world and experience every thing. Their adventure brought them face-to-face with Sif and they, quite abruptly, fell in love with him. After proposing to Sif, their first adventure saw them become lovers and spouses. Sif makes their second spouse and they fall further and further in love with him with every passing moment.A key component of Mantis physiology are the three crystals they keep contained in their chest. Each one can only be given once and it takes up residence in their spouse's body. The crystal creates a permanent link, both telepathic and emotional, between a Mantis and all their spouses. The side effect is that this also links the spouses themselves together through the Mantis.Their first husband, Lazrym, is a Drow that they met not long after he freed himself from the cavernous Drow city to see and paint the world. His soft demeanor and deep creative passion leaves them awed as they watch him work. Together they built a home by a lake in the mountains and had two kids. Now there are more on the way, both with Lazrym and Sif.

Adventure 1: The meeting

Kriemregia first met Sif as they both confronted a challenge set out by the Wizard, a despicable dragon disguised as a human. Kriemregia stuck with Sif to help him win the coveted, valuable blue flower as a prize. Sif had intended to sell it and seek out any kind of safety and stability in the world. Instead his marriage to Kriemregia gave him what he was after. They swore to help him conquer the Wizard's influence left on him.

Adventure 2: The Train

Travelling with Sif back to their home, the two encountered a pair of opposed villains: First, a group of religious zealots intent on taking hostages. They were defeated but not before hurting Sif. Second, one of the hivemind mers called a "Royal" who sought to take Sif for their own. They were denied but not before they pulled a surprise that would make a Fae proud. In the intermission after arriving home, Kriemregia sought to do everything they could to help Sif but the adventure had taken its toll on everyone.

Adventure 3: The Pit

Far from home, Kriemregia joined Sif in seeking out the Wizard to finally see her defeated. The adventure saw Sif save Chasthei, who had been bound to the Wizard; recover Turn, a robot built to serve the gods; influence Veric, a huge orc who Sif had accidentally used his newfound dragon curse on; and meet Martyr, a being who seemed to be either a god or close to a god. The wizard's defeat brought great relief and Kriemregia wants nothing more than to bring Sif home and encourage him to life a quiet, domestic life with them for a while.

Kriemregia - Physical Changes

Kriemregia has not undergone any physical changes outside of giving their second Mantis crystal to Sif to make him their spouse.

Vira - Story

Vira is one of hundreds of children born and raised in the little community by the lake. What started out as a modest home in the mountains ballooned out into a sprawling commune with numerous adults and a constantly-growing collection of children. The nearby towns were caught off guard by the needs of so many at first, but not anymore. She is one of the older children, the daughter of Sif and Kriemregia, and she has always taken what she wanted. Her unwavering confidence led her to be a role model for younger kids and she never shied away from showing off. She learned early how to tap into the strengths that came with being part dragon and part mantis; and part godchild, though those abilities come subconsciously. A bad timeline would see her master her god strength and use it at the expense of others.Fortunately her attention is focused selfishly on three others that she's taken as her spouses. The first two are Hound's children, a warrior from the old world who'd had many, many kids. And a bug whose destiny would have been to raise a colony if she could. Vira pushes every single unwritten rule until it breaks: Hound children were meant to be strong, forceful, dominant. They paled in comparison to Vira. Her bug wife could never fulfill her role. To Vira, that impossibility was just defeatism. In her early days she wanted nothing more than to be free of her family, free of the lovey-dovey domestic family life she'd been surrounded by as she was raised. Now, however, she's gone and done that exact same thing herself.
